The story

Vodeno was founded in 2018 in Warsaw as a cloud-native core banking technology provider, building the Vodeno Cloud Platform (VCP) — an API-first, smart-contract-enabled core. It paired its tech with sister company Aion Bank to deliver true BaaS (tech + licence) across the EEA. In 2024 both Vodeno and Aion were acquired by UniCredit, repositioning the platform as UniCredit's BaaS arm; in 2025 UniCredit extended this with a strategic investment in Banxware to build embedded SME lending on the Aion/Vodeno rails.
