Twism

Can a programmable branded-currency network replace both loyalty points and credit-card payments for SMB merchants, cutting interchange while owning the customer relationship?

The story

Twism started as a customer engagement and loyalty platform, evolving from a gift-card/points model (including absorbing Axxess Card's merchant base) into a programmable branded-currency network. Each merchant mints their own 'Coin' — a closed-loop digital currency equivalent to $1 — stored in a universal consumer wallet. The platform now positions itself as an alternative payment rail, letting merchants steer customers to Coin-based payments to reduce credit-card interchange fees, effectively blending loyalty with stored-value payments infrastructure.
