“Can TerraPay become the single global rails layer — the 'payment interoperability OS' — that connects every bank, wallet, and card network across emerging markets without corridor-by-corridor rebuilds?”
TerraPay launched in 2015 as a mobile-first remittance service focused on enabling cross-border money transfers to mobile wallets. Over time it evolved from a narrow MTO-connectivity play into a broad global payments infrastructure network, connecting banks, mobile wallet operators, MTOs, and card networks across 140+ countries. The 2024 launch of Xend — a dedicated wallet interoperability network — marked its most significant product expansion, positioning TerraPay as an infrastructure layer for wallet-to-wallet and wallet-to-bank global payouts rather than just a bilateral remittance corridor operator.
