The story

Taxdoo started as a focused VAT compliance tool for European e-commerce sellers, helping them navigate complex cross-border VAT rules across EU markets. Over time, it expanded into a full e-commerce accounting platform (GoBD-compliant, DATEV-compatible), adding financial accounting automation on top of its VAT engine. The company now positions itself as the 'smart data hub' for online merchants and tax advisors, processing over 500 million transactions annually and €15 billion in transaction volume. The embedded finance angle is primarily as a data aggregator and compliance layer — connecting to payment providers, banks, marketplaces and ERPs to automate accounting and tax reporting.
