Founded in 2014 as a premium, keyboard-shortcut-driven email client for power users, Superhuman built a high-NPS subscription product at $30/month that attracted VC backing from a16z and IVP. Post-Series C, the company expanded from Gmail to Outlook and layered generative AI drafts into the product. In July 2025, Grammarly acquired Superhuman, folding it into a broader AI productivity platform (Superhuman Platform Inc.) alongside Coda and Grammarly's core writing assistant. As of 2026, Superhuman Mail is one product surface within a multi-product suite, with the MCP Server integration becoming a focal point for agentic AI workflows.
