Over decades it expanded into employee benefits (meal vouchers, gift cards, incentive programs) creating an embedded finance layer atop its core services. The spinoff of Pluxee (formerly Sodexo Benefits & Rewards Services) in 2023-2024 separated the benefits/voucher business, leaving the core Sodexo focused on food and facilities management with a residual embedded payments and digital voucher stack.
