The story

Founded in 2007 as Assay Depot and rebranded to Scientist.com, the company built the world's first AI-powered marketplace connecting pharmaceutical and biotech buyers with a network of 6,000+ research service providers. Recognising that small suppliers were forced to accept 120-day payment terms set by large pharma clients, Scientist.com embedded supply chain finance (early payment) capabilities via Kyriba, generating early payments to suppliers and meaningfully compressing the procurement lifecycle. The company now operates both a buyer-facing marketplace and a supplier-facing 'Backoffice' portal with tiered subscription plans, positioning it as the financial and operational gateway for outsourced R&D.
