The story

Founded in 2009 as a simple online food ordering aggregator for Uruguay, PedidosYa was acquired by Delivery Hero in 2014 and expanded across 15 Latin American countries. Beginning in 2022, the company pivoted beyond pure food delivery into embedded finance — launching PedidosYa Créditos to provide fast working capital loans to restaurant SME partners based on platform performance data, bypassing traditional banking requirements. The company is now developing a broader financial ecosystem (digital wallets, personal credit cards, payment advance features) for both restaurant partners and gig workers, positioning itself as the financial OS for its merchant and courier network in LatAm.
