The story

Founded in 2019 by Stephany Kirkpatrick (formerly of LearnVest/Northwestern Mutual), Orum set out to solve the latency and uncertainty of ACH-based interbank money movement using AI and machine learning. It built a unified payment orchestration API that routes transactions across ACH, RTP, FedNow, and Visa Direct rails with predictive funds availability. After raising $82M+ through a fast-paced Series A and B in 2021, Orum scaled enterprise partnerships with banks and fintechs before ultimately being acquired by Stripe, where it operates as an embedded payments infrastructure subsidiary.
