The story

Founded in 1998 as NetLedger, NetSuite pioneered cloud-based ERP before the term was widely used, predating Salesforce by roughly one month. After going public in 2007, it expanded from core accounting into a full cloud ERP suite covering CRM, inventory, payroll, and e-commerce. Oracle's $9.3B acquisition in 2016 gave the product enterprise distribution and resources to embed financial services—including a Banking as a Service launch in 2018 and a 2025 partnership with J.P. Morgan Payments for supply chain finance—turning the ERP into a platform for embedded finance for SMBs and mid-market companies.
