The story

Founded in 2013, ModusBox initially built open-source interoperable payment switching infrastructure, gaining recognition for work with Mowali, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and World Council of Credit Unions. The company pivoted toward serving community banks and credit unions with an Integration-Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS) connecting banking cores, real-time payment networks, and fintechs. In 2022, ModusBox bifurcated its business: the enterprise integration/iPaaS side was spun out as PortX (raising $10M), while ModusBox retained focus on fintech connectivity products (Fintech Hub, Integration Manager, Payment Manager) for community financial institutions.
