The story

Founded in 2015 in Lausanne as an institutional digital asset infrastructure company, Metaco built SILO — a hardware-secured platform for cryptocurrencies, tokens, and distributed ledgers — serving top-tier banks and global custodians. It expanded into Harmonize, a full digital asset core system with banking roots, enabling orchestration of custody, trading, and DeFi workflows for regulated financial institutions. In 2023, Ripple acquired Metaco for $250 million in its first-ever acquisition, integrating Metaco's enterprise custody technology into Ripple's institutional digital asset offerings. By June 2024, the Metaco.com brand was sunset and the platform was fully absorbed into Ripple's product suite.
