The story

Marginalen Bank is a small Swedish specialist bank (~0.14% domestic market share, ranked 29th by total assets). In 2025 it modernized its core onto Mambu, and in March 2026 launched Embedded Banking — a BaaS proposition exposing accounts, real-time payments, and BNPL/installment lending to non-bank partners under their own brand. This positions a legacy specialist lender as the second Swedish bank (after SEB Embedded) to compete in the BaaS market.
