“Can Latitud become the full financial and operational infrastructure layer — from incorporation to banking to capital — for every venture-backed company in Latin America?”
Founded in 2021 by Brazilian entrepreneur Brian Requarth (who had a costly incorporation misstep when selling VivaReal), Latitud started as a community and services platform helping LatAm startups incorporate correctly in the US (Delaware/Cayman) and access the Silicon Valley ecosystem. By 2022, it was positioning itself as the 'operating system for venture-backed LatAm companies', backed by a16z and NFX. By 2024 it had extended into embedded financial infrastructure with the launch of Meridian, a business account product offering treasury management, cross-border FX transfers, and compliance for LatAm startups with US/Cayman entities — explicitly partnering with licensed financial providers rather than seeking its own bank charter.
