The story

Stripe Issuing is a product line within Stripe, Inc. rather than a standalone company. It evolved from a card-creation API into a full processor-only issuing infrastructure, allowing platforms to bring their own BIN sponsor and manage compliance themselves while Stripe acts as the issuer-processor. The addition of Stripe Treasury created a bundled embedded finance stack combining wallets, ACH, and card spend under one integration.
