HeyTrade started as a Spanish retail investment app, acting as an agent of BEKA FINANCE, SOCIEDAD DE VALORES under Spanish securities regulation. In 2021, HeyTrade integrated TrueLayer's open banking infrastructure to enable instant account top-ups via Payment Initiation Service, differentiating on UX speed. The company subsequently launched a B2B arm (Business HeyTrade / 'Trading as a Service') to offer its investment platform infrastructure to other financial institutions and fintechs, signalling a pivot from pure B2C to a platform/infrastructure model.
