Govolution was founded in 1998 as a specialist government payment platform, building the Velocity processing system to meet federal security standards. Over two decades it expanded from federal agencies to state and local governments, reaching 80+ federal clients and 1,000+ deployments. The company operated as an independent payment processor working with acquirers like Fifth Third, TSYS, Vantiv, and First Data before being absorbed into Deluxe Corporation's merchant services division. Today it operates as a government-focused unit of Deluxe, offering online, IVR, mobile, in-person, and eCheck payment acceptance with no monthly fees under a convenience-fee model.
