The story

Founded in 2012 as a prepaid debit card and pocket-money management app for UK children aged 6-18, GoHenry pioneered the children's fintech category. It expanded to the US in 2019 under a sponsored bank model (Community Federal Savings Bank as card issuer) and raised significant venture capital to scale. Over time the product evolved beyond spending control into savings, financial education (Money Missions), and investment (Junior ISA via Vanguard), making it a broader financial education platform. In the US, GoHenry was subsequently acquired by Acorns and rebranded as Acorns Early, while the UK product continued under the GoHenry brand.
