Eurocard

Can a legacy Nordic corporate card issuer embedded within SEB Group modernise its expense management stack fast enough to compete with fintech challengers like Pleo and Soldo?

The story

Founded in 1965 as one of Europe's earliest charge card networks, Eurocard aligned with Mastercard and eventually became a wholly-owned SEB subsidiary focused on corporate cards and travel expense management for Nordic businesses. The company has evolved from a pure card issuer toward an integrated expense management platform, adding digital receipt capture (via ReceiptHero) and online expense tools. Its strategic question is how deeply it can embed spend management, receipt digitisation, and analytics into the corporate card product to defend against challenger fintechs in the Nordic B2B segment.
