The story

Currenxie was founded in 2014 in Hong Kong as a cross-border B2B payments company, offering multi-currency 'Global Account' wallets, virtual local bank accounts, FX, and Visa business cards. After a 2021 Series A, it expanded from a single-product SMB account into a dual-track business: the consumer-facing Global Account plus a Platform API that lets other enterprises and financial providers embed its collection, FX, payout and card-issuing rails. Securing an EU EMI from the Central Bank of Ireland in 2025 marked its pivot from an Asia/MSO-licensed remitter into a regulated European e-money issuer.
