The story

Cross River Bank began as a New Jersey-chartered bank and evolved into a technology-forward bank-as-infrastructure provider for fintechs. It built its own proprietary banking core (Cross River Operating System, COS) to enable API-first embedded finance across accounts, payments, card issuing, and lending. Over time it expanded from pure sponsor-bank relationships to offering direct capital markets solutions (Principal Finance Group), digital lending origination, and international payments, positioning itself as a full-stack fintech infrastructure bank rather than a traditional deposit institution.
