The story

Coppel Access launched in January 2023 as the US-market digital financial arm of Grupo Coppel, the largest department store chain in Mexico, designed to serve unbanked and underbanked Mexican Americans. The product offered an FDIC-insured prepaid Visa debit card, mobile wallet, and remittance capability powered by Alviere (formerly Mezu NA) as program manager with Community Federal Savings Bank as sponsor. In March 2025 the product rebranded to AccessMás, expanding its cross-border remittance reach from Mexico to six Latin American countries, signaling a move from a single-corridor remittance wallet to a broader Latino financial services platform in the US.
