The story

Borgata opened in 2003 as one of Atlantic City's premier hotel-casino destinations, initially a Boyd Gaming / MGM joint venture. After MGM Resorts acquired full ownership (~2016), Borgata was integrated into MGM's enterprise infrastructure, including its MGM Rewards loyalty ecosystem. The property has evolved alongside New Jersey's legalization of iGaming, partnering closely with BetMGM to blur the lines between physical casino and online gambling — a strategic differentiator as brick-and-mortar operators seek to capture digital gaming revenue.
