The story

Founded in 2017 as a restaurant-focused robotics startup, Bear Robotics commercialized Servi — a food-running/table-bussing robot — and scaled across hospitality verticals including senior living, hospitals, hotels, and entertainment venues. Starting in 2024, Bear broadened from pure hospitality into industrial/warehouse automation with the Carti AMR line, reflecting ambitions beyond restaurants. LG Electronics' step-up to 51% majority ownership in January 2025 transformed Bear from an independent startup into a strategic robotics subsidiary, with LG's global distribution and commercial robot business (CLOi) as the growth vehicle going forward.
