The story

Founded in 1909 as an electrical engineering contractor, Balfour Beatty grew into a leading international infrastructure group spanning civil engineering, construction, PPP/project finance, rail, highways, and investments. The group has progressively embedded digital and financial tooling into its supply chain, launching an early supply chain finance scheme in 2013 and converting to an ESG-linked revolving credit facility in 2021. Its current strategic emphasis is on digital-first delivery — including a £7.2m Microsoft Copilot deployment in 2025 — to close the construction industry productivity gap.
