The story

Founded in 2006 as Ambit Retail Finance Private Limited, the company is the NBFC arm of Ambit Group — historically known as an investment bank. Over time it pivoted toward MSME credit, adding unsecured business loans, secured business loans, and used commercial vehicle loans. A major digital inflection came via a 2022 partnership with Bajaj Finserv Direct's SKALEUP arm to build a fully digital, paperless onboarding and lending platform. The company has since layered co-lending partnerships with public-sector banks and DCB Bank to leverage cheaper bank capital for priority-sector lending.
