Airwallet

Airwallet ApS was founded in Denmark as a mobile-first payment platform targeting the laundry industry, initially eliminating coins and tokens for laundromat users. As the company sought to expand internationally across Europe, its original local payments provider could not support regional payment methods such as Bancontact, iDEAL, and giropay. To solve this, Airwallet migrated to Stripe's full financial infrastructure — including Connect for marketplace/platform payouts to equipment owners and distributors — enabling rapid multi-country rollout without heavy developer overhead.
